Parker DuraBond™ meltblown filter

Parker’s DuraBond™ meltblown filter is a cost-effective, heavy-duty filtration solution suitable for a wide range of industrial applications and fluids, thanks to its rigid thermally bonded construction.

The DuraBond™ meltblown filter has a fixed pore structure, which functions as a particulate “sorting” filter. This structure allows fine pigments to pass through while effectively blocking larger agglomerates, which is especially useful in applications involving pigmented coatings.

The structure of a meltblown filter is composed of microscopic polypropylene and polyethylene fibers that generate a matrix that allows the capture of particles suspended in the fluids passing through the material. The density and arrangement of the fibers in meltblown filters allows them to capture larger particles such as pigment agglomerates while allowing smaller particles such as individual fine pigments to pass through.

Retention efficiency

DuraBond™ meltblown filter cartridges feature a fixed pore structure that ensures high efficiency and excellent particle retention while maintaining their integrity. Its surface, characterized by being porous and corrugated, significantly increases its capacity to contain impurities. In addition, its particular design facilitates a particle “sorting” effect, especially effective when used with coatings containing pigments.

Filtration efficiency and consistency

The thermally bonded bicomposite fiber matrix provides a rigid and dimensionally stable structure, preventing fiber migration. This rigidity prevents the release of contaminants and the formation of channels. In addition, its silicone-free design ensures that it does not alter the properties of the coating or fluid in which it is being used.

Safe to use, easy to remove

Its materials of construction are described as acceptable by the FDA for use in potable and edible liquids in accordance with CFR Title 21. There are also variations of the product (DOE) that are ANSI/NSF61 compliant, as they are manufactured from FDA-grade polypropylene, which ensures their safety for contact with potable water.

In addition, they can be easily removed either by crushing, crushing or shredding.
