Description

Corosex can correct acidic conditions and avoid corrosive water.

Corosex, a highly reactive magnesium oxide, is used to fix, regulate and level the pH of acidic and corrosive water.

Corosex is acid-soluble, so it will dissolve gradually and must be replenished periodically.

On a Corosex basis it can neutralize acidity 5 times more, compared to calcium carbonate. This means that you will use less chemicals to neutralize the pH. You should consider that, under low flow conditions, Corosex can over-fix and generate a very alkaline (high pH) condition.

Under certain hardness conditions, pH neutralization may cause calcium precipitation, resulting in solidification of the Corosex mineral bed. Mainly suggested with a hardness greater than 5 grains per gallon. (Consistently use a settling filter in advance of the Corosex equipment.)

Corosex magnesium oxide neutralizes the water, as well as increasing the hardness and a sauviazador could be paramount from the neutralization filter. Corosex can be effectively combined with Calcite to enhance the high neutralization characteristics of Corosex, along with low attitude characteristics in small flows of Calcite, potentially decreasing the pH correction of the water due to over-correction.

ADVANTAGES OF COROSEX

High degree of activity and speed of correction allowing high flow rates.

High capacity … less use of chemicals.

OPERATING CONDITIONS

Downflow service is generally satisfactory in waters with a hardness of less than 5 grains/gal. or when combined with Calcite at least 50 / 50. Upflow service is generally recommended with a hardness greater than five grains per gallon. to avoid sedimentation of the Corosex bed.

Use manifolds, designed for upflow applications

  • A silica gravel support bed is recommended.
  • Water pH range: 4.5-6.0
  • Depth of bed: 24-30 cm
  • Clearance: 50% of bed depth (minimum)
  • Backwashing to avoid possible sedimentation
  • Backwash flow: 10-12 gpm / sq. ft. foot
  • Service flow rate: 5-6 gpm / sq. m3 / sq. ft. ft but can be modified to suit local conditions
  • Maximum use of 100 mg / L

Packaging:

Corosex is packaged in 50 lb (0.66 cu. ft.) bags.
