Polyspun Aquex Water Sediment Filters

 

Polyspun Aquex polypropylene water sediment filters, also known as depth filters, remove dirt, sand, rust, grit and other suspended matter from water physically on the surface of the various pore layers of varying diameters that make up the filters. Polyspun water sediment filters stand out for their versatility and efficiency, making them a prime choice for both industrial and residential applications. Thanks to their exceptional physical and chemical resistance, these filters are capable of efficiently handling a diversity of water sources, adapting to different needs and conditions. In addition, their price is relatively inexpensive, making them a cost-effective option without compromising filtered water quality. Available in a wide range of sizes, Polyspun water sediment filters can meet a wide range of water flow requirements, ensuring an effective filtration solution for each specific application. Aquex water sediment filters can be used as pretreatment in domestic reverse osmosis systems, point-of-use and under-sink domestic water filters, small commercial reverse osmosis systems or as a stand-alone filter to protect pipes and appliances from damage and dirt build-up.

They are available in 2.5″ and 4.5″ O.D. sizes and in 5″, 10″, 20″, 30″ and 40″ heights. (depending on the model).

The 10″ sediment filters can be used in any single or multi-filter housing designed to accept standard 10″ (9 7/8″ actual length) filter cartridges.

Graded pore structure

The design of water sediment filters applies a controlled variation in pore size throughout the filter material, from larger on the outer surface to smaller towards the interior of the filter. This pore gradation allows for sequential capture of particles of different sizes, which directly aids filtration efficiency, as well as
increases product life by preventing clogging of smaller pore sizes.

High consistency cast polypropylene.

The polypropylene from which the water sediment filters are constructed is a thermoplastic polymer characterized by its chemical resistance, structural stability and resistance to degradation, ideal for working in various water flow and pressure conditions without collapsing, while its chemical resistance makes it ideal for working with various types of water and pH.

Removal of various suspended solids

However, it must be emphasized that to obtain quality water, additional treatment is needed that can remove chemicals, viruses, bacteria, heavy metals, salts and dissolved minerals.

Ideal for reverse osmosis pretreatment

The presence of suspended solids in the water could quickly damage and saturate the reverse osmosis membranes as they are designed to remove minerals and salts mainly, so the inlet water must be free of contaminants due to the sensitivity of the membrane. Water sediment filters physically retain these contaminants as the first filter through which the liquid to be treated must pass, ensuring the integrity of the subsequent filtration and purification devices.

Easy and safe incineration and disposal of cartridges.

The polypropylene from which the water sediment filters are made, once its useful life is over due to sediment saturation, can be easily incinerated since it does not leave hazardous toxic residues. This facilitates its handling as waste.
