Description
KL Silica powdered membrane cleaner for silica fouling
King Lee Technologies ‘ KL Silica powder membrane cleaner is a specialized solution for the effective removal of silica fouling in reverse osmosis, nanofiltration and ultrafiltration systems. This powdered cleaner is specifically formulated to attack and remove aluminum silicate, iron and other metal silicate scale that can clog membranes. It can be combined with Pretreat Plus for complete protection.
Benefits of KL Silica
- Effectiveness for silica fouling: KL Silica specifically targets silica and other metal silicate deposits.
- Powder formulation: Its powder presentation facilitates the transport and handling of the product, offering an economical and practical solution.
- Versatility of applications: The cleaner not only removes silica, but also reactive and colloidal silicate, as well as coagulated polymers.
- NSF/ANSI 60 Certification: This product meets NSF/ANSI 60 standards, ensuring its safety for use in drinking water treatment applications.
Technical specifications
- Appearance: Colorless crystals.
- pH of the product (1%): 4.1 ± 1.1
- Recommended dilution: Mixing ratio 1:10 (pure cleaner to final cleaning solution).
Applications
KL Silica powdered membrane cleaner is designed for use in membrane systems where a 15% decrease in normalized productivity has been identified. KL Silica membrane cleaner powder is ideal for a wide range of industrial applications where reverse osmosis, nanofiltration and ultrafiltration systems are used to obtain high purity water.
The product ensures efficient corrective maintenance for water treatment and purification systems or desalination systems.
Performance advantages
How to use KL Silica cleaner?
Application
- Solution Preparation: Mix 1 pound of cleaning powder with 10 gallons of permeate or deionized (DI) water. Be sure to calculate the correct volume of wastewater in the system, assuming approximately 4 gallons per 8 “x40” membrane element and 1 gallon per 4 “x40” element.
- Conditions for cleaning: Clean each RO train when the normalized productivity has decreased by 15% compared to operation under clean conditions.
- Soaking and circulation process: Soaking and circulation times vary depending on the state of the membranes. Adjust these times empirically based on pH monitoring during the process.
- Monitoring and documentation: During cleaning, monitor and document the pH at each step to adjust and optimize the procedure for future cleanings.
