Operation of UV water lamps

Ultraviolet light

Selective exposure to ultraviolet light alters the DNA of bacteria and other harmful microorganisms, rendering them unable to perform vital cellular functions such as reproduction.

Our chemical-free UV disinfection processes have proven to be an efficient and cost-effective method of treating wastewater from a wide range of sources, including hotels and leisure facilities, oil and gas production plants, mining operations and municipal treatment centers.

However, optimum disinfection performance depends on the correct calculation of the UV light “dose”, which is subject to the flow rate of the system and the UV light transmission properties of the water itself.

For example, a fluid containing multiple floating particles and/or impurities will prevent UV radiation from adequately reaching all microbes, which will affect the purification results.
