Description

Crystolite

Crystolite is a long-lasting filter media, meeting the needs of municipal, industrial, residential and reuse water.

This filter media has a high capacity and is designed to reduce the waste of expensive filter elements and plastic filter tanks. Crysolite is an excellent alternative to all microfiltration membranes.

Benefits

  • Removes solids and IDS
  • Compact filters
  • High filtration rates
  • Resistance to heavy metals
  • Continuous operation and performance
  • Easy operation, maintenance and control
  • Lifetime of 10 to 15 years
  • pH environments from 3 to 12
  • High temperatures up to 80°C

APPLICATION

CRYSTOLITE was developed through years of field testing to ensure complete removal of harmful solids and heavy metals from the water system. CRYSTOLITE reduces the level of electrical conductivity caused by microsolids.

Compared to its closest competitor, the levels of hazardous solids and IDS (sediment density index) have been reduced by 5 to 8 times.

The glass stone provides microfiltration through a pressurized tank, the water flows through the filter material, while suspended solids remain on its surface and only clean water flows through the filter bed.

Therefore, Crystolite can filter particles as small as 0.5 microns without clogging. Suspended solids accumulate on the surface of the beam and are easily removed by backwashing. In addition, the system can be designed as a manual or automatic backwash cycle of up to ten minutes, using 80% less water than any traditional filter media.

This is possible because 90% of the solids are trapped on the surface rather than in the Crystolite® bed. The high-tech filtration technology can filter particles and submicron solids, and its throughput is 10 to 15 times higher than that of all traditional filters.

Applications:

  • Ammonium removal
  • Removal of traces of heavy metals
  • Reverse osmosis pretreatment
  • Power plants
  • Iron and steel industry
  • Wastewater with high solids content
  • Cooling towers without purge
  • Boilers without blowdown
  • Swimming pools
