Industrial and Residential electromechanical automatic Water Softener - industrial

Carbotecnia's line of domestic - commercial softeners are designed for the treatment of hard water in residential and commercial applications, where water consumption is less than 22 hours.

For an adequate cost benefit ratio, it is recommended to use it to soften water with total hardness ≥ 200 mg / L (ppm).

This line is available in tanks from 8 × 44 ”to 63 × 83”, to treat from 1.5 to 310 gpm of instantaneous flow.

Automatic softeners by time:

Simple manual or automatic smoother by time: equipment with a single tank with cationic resin, with automatic control valve for regeneration by time (regenerates every certain number of days or on a certain day of the week). Recommended for domestic or industrial use, with non-variable consumption and operation less than 22 h.

Automatic flow softeners: 

Simple Automatic Flow Softeners: single tank equipment with cationic resin, with an automatic valve that includes a treated water meter, which allows the resin to be regenerated only when the exchange capacity is exhausted. Recommended for domestic or commercial use, with variable consumption and operation less than 22 hours.

Calculation of softener capacity: 

Water hardness is generally expressed in mg / L CaCO3, also known as parts per million (ppm), but it can also be expressed in other units such as grains per gallon (gpg), 1 gpg = 17.1 mg / L or 17.1 ppm.

To calculate the volume of water that your equipment will be able to soften, you must know the hardness of the water to be treated in gpg and the capacity of the softener, which is directly related to the salt with which the equipment is regenerated. 

In the specifications table, there are two columns, one for Design Capacity and another for Maximum Capacity, expressed in grams of hardness per equipment. Each one has specified the salt with which the resin must be regenerated to obtain this capacity. 

Once the size of the equipment has been selected, the value of the equipment capacity (in gr) is taken and divided by the water hardness (in gpg). The result is the number of gallons of water the equipment can handle before saturating. When the consumption is not variable, this flow can be transformed into days, dividing the number of gallons that can be treated by the consumption per day.
